Barrick Gold’s Richard Williams discusses the company’s transformation and the road ahead
Barrick Gold Corporation’s (TSE:ABX) COO Richard Williams was “incredibly grateful” to receive the Corporate Development award at Mines and Money London after a tough few years for the gold mining behemoth. “A few years ago we were in a bit of trouble and we had to take quite dramatic action to strengthen our balance sheet and transform our business. We had to be quite aggressive, as many in our industry had to be, and to be awarded for it makes us very grateful,” he said in the interview. He also talks about Barrick’s plans for the upcoming year and how they will continue to strengthen the balance sheet to allow them to invest in the future.
