Pierre Arcand, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources for Quebec, talks about the government’s big plans for Plan Nord

At a time when greater investor interest is garnered around mining companies in Quebec, we met with the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources for Quebec, Pierre Arcand, at Mines and Money New York. Reporter Rachel Lee asks the Minister for deeper details on Plan Nord, a major project to sustainably develop Quebec’s northern regions (the Canadian government will spend a minimum of $50 billion for Plan Nord over the next 20 years). In the interview, the Minister also states that the business climate in Quebec is “pro-business,” mainly due to a new mining law that simplifies how companies operate.
