Uranium Explorer Powers Higher on Discovery News

U3O8 Corp. (TSX: UWE), a uranium explorer, climbed after announcing that it has discovered a second type of uranium-vanadium mineralization

New mineralization put a charge in shares of a uranium explorer Wednesday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 (as of 4 pm EST):

U3O8 Corp. (TSX: UWE) shares jumped 29% to $0.045 on Wednesday after the uranium explorer announced that it has discovered a second type of uranium-vanadium mineralization that occurs in addition to the typical mineralized gravel at La Rosada, an area that lies within the larger Laguna Salada Project in Argentina.

As well, shares of American Lithium Corp. (TSXV: LI) slid 21% to $0.155 as the lithium junior said it has decided to not proceed with the acquisition of additional acreage in Clayton Valley, Nevada as announced on November 15, 2016.

Natcore Technology Inc. (TSXV: NXT), meanwhile, reported that a US$300 million solar project it manages has been included in the list of selected projects for the development of solar energy in Vietnam’s Binh Thuan Province of Vietnam, and has been approved by the Province People’s Committee. Natcore Technology stock popped 27% to $0.38 following the announcement.

In addition, shares of Nexus Gold Corp. (TSXV: NXS) rose 17% to $0.14 as the gold explorer said it has received geochemical results from its initial exploration program at the Niangouela Gold Concession in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Sample results included a value of 23.9 g/t gold, with another at 2,950 g/t gold.

Finally, PyroGenesis Canada Inc. (TSXV: PYR) shares have gained about 14% over the past two days after the manufacturer of plasma waste-to-energy systems and plasma torch products announced that it has now signed two additional contracts totaling approximately US$1.2 million. As of June 30, 2016, total military contracts signed now exceed US$3.7 million, and both military contracts and non-military contracts now exceed C$13 million.
