FXCM Inc (NYSE: FXCM) and Brilliant Resources Inc (TSXV: BLT), lead the top small cap stock gainers for various sectors on both sides of the border, including one that saw its share price surge 62%.

FXCM Inc (NYSE: FXCM), engaged in providing foreign exchange trading and related services, was the top performer in the U.S. financial sector after skyrocketing 45.6% and closed at $2.33 Wednesday, while recording significant trading volumes of 94.4 million shares. The stock’s price rise came in the wake of FXCM receiving life-line loan from Leucadia as the company was previously affected by Swiss central bank’s decision to let its national currency float freely against the euro. It also announced that it will increase margin requirements globally on forex instruments, as well as gold in its overseas jurisdictions.
