Tech Stock Pops on Supply Deal: Today’s Canadian Small Cap Market Movers

Industries Inc.
(TSXV:
AAO
) shares jumped 20% to $0.06 on more than 5.1 million shares traded
Thursday after the supplier of systems using fiber optic sensors, related
monitoring instruments, and software announced that its wholly-owned
subsidiary, FOX TEK Canada Inc., has been selected as a preferred supplier of
Stork Technical Services (RBG) Limited, a provider of knowledge-based asset
integrity management services. The goal of the relationship is for Stork to
build and expand upon its non-intrusive corrosion monitoring capabilities, by
becoming a full Electric Field Mapping (EFM) provider to the European market,
with gradual growth into Eastern Europe and Asia.

As well,
shares of Regal Lifestyle Communities
Inc.
(TSX:
RLC
) shot up 28% to $12.06 as the owner and operator of seniors housing
communities said it has agreed to be acquired by Health Care REIT, Inc. and
Revera, Inc. for C$12.00 per share in cash, or a total enterprise value of
approximately C$766 million.

Simba Energy Inc. (TSXV:
SMB
) stock, meanwhile, continued to move higher Thursday, up 27% to $0.07 on volume of more than 2.9 million shares. The oil and explorer recently announced
that it has executed an agreement with Essel Group Middle East, of Dubai, UAE,
a subsidiary of Essel Group India, wherein Essel Group will earn a 60%
participating interest in Simba’s existing Production Sharing Contracts in Kenya,
Chad and Guinea.
