Tech Stock Climbs on Acquisition Announcement: Today’s Canadian Small Cap Market Movers

COM DEV International Ltd. (TSX:
CDV
) shares rose 7% to $4.62 on Wednesday after the provider of space
hardware and services announced an agreement to acquire Pacific Wave Systems
(PWS), a manufacturer of waveguides for the global satellite industry, for
US$20.1 million. The company added that the purchase price represents a
multiple of 6.9 times adjusted EBITDA for PWS’ most recent fiscal year ended
February 2015 and 6.4 times projected adjusted EBITDA for the current
year. 

As well, shares of Terra Energy Corp.
(TSX:
TT
) slid 6% to $0.08 as the junior oil and gas producer/explorer said its total
proved and probable reserves decreased 15% year over year from 17,360 mboe to
14,781 mboe.

GuestLogix Inc. (TSX:
GXI
) stock, meanwhile, popped 14% to $0.81 following a media
report
that suggested its share price was “undervalued.” GuestLogix is a provider
of ancillary-focused merchandising, payment and business intelligence
technology to airlines and the passenger travel industry.

Finally, MediaValet Inc. (TSXV:
MVP
) shares surged 83% to $0.165 after the provider of cloud-based
digital asset management software announced that former Absolute Software COO Rob
Chase has joined MediaValet’s Board as its Chairman and has personally contributed
$500,000 as part of the company’s recent $750,000 financing.
