Galway Metals Inc. (CVE:GWM), a resource junior, surged after announcing the acquisition of a former producing polymetallic mine in Quebec

A past-producing mine made a few resource junior shareholders happy Thursday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Thursday, August 18, 2016 (as of 4 pm EST):
Galway Metals Inc. (CVE:GWM) shares jumped 23% to $0.64 on Thursday after the resource junior announced that it has acquired 100% ownership interest in the former producing Estrades polymetallic mine, related Newiska concessions, and adjacent Casa Berardi claims in Quebec.
As well, shares of Ballard Power Systems (TSE:BLD) surged 9% to $2.75 as the provider of clean energy products said it has signed a Distribution Agreement, in which Toyota Tsusho Corporation will act as a distributor of Ballard-powered fuel cell products in Japan.
Quantum International Income Corp. (CVE:QIC), meanwhile, reported that it has entered into a non-binding term sheet with a lender to provide financing for the acquisition of digital skill-based gaming terminal operator Lucky Bucks Inc. Lucky Bucks’ unaudited gross revenue and pretax net income was US$10.6 million and US$7.6 million, respectively, for the 12-month period ended December 31, 2015. Quantum International Income stock moved up 200% to $0.045 following the announcement.
In addition, shares of Energizer Resources Inc. (TSE:EGZ) climbed 29% to $0.09 as the mineral exploration company said investment funds managed by Goodman & Company, Investment Counsel Inc., an affiliate of Dundee Corporation, purchased C$6 million of Energizer stock, giving it a stake in the Company of just under 20%.
Finally, Noram Ventures Inc. (CVE:NRM) shares gained 25% to $0.075 after the lithium explorer announced that a more extensive sampling and geological mapping program is underway on the Spartan claim group at its 100% owned South Block Extension in Nevada’s Clayton Valley.
