stocks making big moves on Friday, March 27, 2015 (as of 4 pm EST), as

Allana Potash Corp. (TSX:
AAA) shares surged 44% to $0.475 on volume of more than 20 million shares Friday
after the potash project developer with operations in Ethiopia announced that
Israel Chemicals has made an C$137 million offer to acquire Allana in a cash
and stock deal valued at $0.50 per share.
As well,
shares of Alter NRG Corp. (TSX:
NRG) shot up 138% to $4.59 as the alternative energy solutions provider said
it has agreed to be acquired by Harvest International New Energy, Inc. for C$5.00
per share in cash, or a total consideration of approximately $147
million.
Arcan Resources Ltd. (TSXV:
ARN), meanwhile, reported that it was able to reduce its 2014 operating
costs to $15.24 per BOE, below company estimates of $16.00 to $17.00. Arcan
Resources stock popped 44% to $0.065 following the announcement.
Finally,
Ventripoint
Diagnostics Ltd. (TSXV:
VPT) shares climbed as much as 27% before ending unchanged at $0.055 after the provider of tools to monitor patients with heart
disease announced that it has received Acceptance Review Notification
concerning the company’s recent 510(k) submission to the U.S. Food & Drug
Administration. The Notification confirms that the submission contains all of
the necessary elements and information needed to proceed with the substantive
review.
