Oil and Gas Junior Jumps on Asset Sale: Today’s Canadian Small Cap Market Movers

Leucrotta Exploration Inc. (TSXV:
LXE
) shares climbed 16% to $1.15 on volume of more than 1.6 million shares
Thursday after the Montney focused oil and gas producer announced that it
has sold a portion of its assets located in the Greater Dawson area of northeast
British Columbia for approximately $80 million in cash.

As well,
shares of GreenPower Motor Company Inc. (TSXV:
GPV
) surged 16% to $0.25 as the developer of electric powered vehicles for
commercial markets said it has received notice from the State of Washington
Department of Enterprise Services (DES) that the company has been designated as
an Apparent Successful Bidder for heavy-duty public transit vehicles. This designation
doesn’t imply that DES will issue an award to the company, but it believes that
GreenPower’s bid is responsive with the points awarded.  

Photon Control Inc. (TSXV: PHO),
meanwhile, reported a 17% increase in its first-quarter sales to a record $6.8
million, while its net earnings for the period surged 80% to $3.7 million.
Photon Control develops optical measurement technologies. Its stock price moved
up 16% to $0.74 following the announcement.
