Oil and Gas Junior Gushes on Liquidation News: Today’s Canadian Small Cap Market Movers

Calvalley Petroleum Inc. (TSX:
CVI.A
) shares surged 35% to $0.93 on Thursday after the international oil
and gas company announced that its Board of Directors has decided to
restructure and liquidate the company. Current shareholders have the option to receive
either US$0.807 per share in cash or shares in Calvalley Energy Limited, its
wholly-owned subsidiary organized in Cyprus, or a combination of both.  

MBAC Fertilizer Corp.(TSX: MBC),
meanwhile,
said it has received non-binding indicative offers and
expressions of interest from a number of third-parties, most of which are
active in the fertilizer and agriculture sectors, in response to MBAC’s
previously announced strategic review process. MBAC Fertilizer stock popped 114%
to $0.075 following the announcement.

Finally, Talon Metals Corp. (TSX:
TLO
) shares continued to move as much as 12% higher before closing down 3% to $0.16. On
Wednesday, shares of the Minnesota nickel-copper-PGE project developer powered
27% higher after the company reported a 167% increase in tonnage for the Inferred
massive sulphide resource, and an increase in grade from 6.42% to 7.26% NiEq.
