Nutraceutical Stock Pops on Cannabinoid Joint Venture

A potential move into cannabinoid products generated much interest in a nutraceutical stock Monday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Monday, April 10, 2017 (as of 4 pm EST):

Nutraceutical stock NeutriSci International Inc. (TSXV: NU) powered 16% higher to $0.145 on Monday after announcing the finalization of the joint venture with Lexaria Bioscience Corp. to produce and commercialize a line of healthy, sugar-free, edible cannabinoid sublingual tablets combining NeutriSci’s proprietary pterostilbene tablet form factor and Lexaria’s patented technology.

As well, shares of Opawica Explorations Inc. (TSXV: OPW) sank 37% to $0.06 as the junior explorer released drill results from its 100% owned Bazooka East gold property in Quebec, which included 54.8 metres of 0.65 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

Identillect Technologies Corp. (TSXV: ID), meanwhile, reported that it has achieved double-digit subscriber growth over the past two quarters, driven by the adoption of Identillect’s Delivery Trust email encryption solution by new customers. Identillect Technologies stock moved up 15% to $0.15 following the announcement.

Finally, Trilogy Metals Inc. (TSX: TMQ) shares jumped 23% to $0.92 after the metals exploration company announced that it has granted South32 Limited an option to form a 50/50 joint venture with respect to Trilogy’s Alaskan assets. To earn the 50% interest, South32 will contribute a minimum of US$150 million, plus any amounts Trilogy spends at the Arctic Project over the next three years to a maximum of US$5 million per year.
