Medical Tech Stock Jumps on FDA Ruling: Today’s Canadian Small Cap Market Movers

Ventripoint Diagnostics Ltd. (TSXV:
VPT
) shares climbed 18% to $0.065 on volume of more than 11.7 million
shares Monday after the provider of technology to monitor patients with heart
disease announced that it has received Marketing Clearance from the U.S. Food
& Drug Administration (FDA) for the expanded Indications for Use of its VMS
product where right ventricle volumes and ejection fractions are warranted or
desired.

As well,
shares of Cortex Business Solutions
Inc.
 (TSXV:
CBX
) continued to move lower Monday, down to 7% to $0.065. On Friday,
shares of the Enterprise eProcurement solutions provider fell 7% as the company
said it is planning to propose a 1 for 50 consolidation of its common shares at
its upcoming Annual General and Special Meeting of Shareholders on June 24,
2015.

Edgewater
Wireless Systems Inc.
(TSXV:
YFI
), meanwhile, reported that its CEO Andrew Skafel will be speaking at
Carrier Wi-Fi World conference in London on June 10, 2015. Edgewater’s WiFi3 is redefining Wi-Fi technology with its
wide-band, multi-channel radio and high-capacity Access Point solutions. Its
stock price moved up 7% to $0.59 following the announcement.

Finally, DATA Group Ltd. (TSX:
DGI
) shares slid 19% to $0.50 after the managed business
communications services firm announced that it is withdrawing its
outlook regarding 2015 net income and return on shareholders’ equity.
