Medical Tech Stock Climbs on Operational Update: Today’s Canadian Small Cap Market Movers

Verisante Technology, Inc. (TSXV:
VRS
) shares jumped 9% to $0.12 on Friday after the provider of skin cancer
detection technology said it has received a purchase order from the Nova Scotia
Health Authority for an Aura, which will be used by Dalhousie University in a
research study. Aura is a non-invasive Raman spectroscopy system designed to
aid medical professionals in the detection of skin cancer. The company added
that it continues to receive specialized interest for its VRS Raman Research
System, completing a sale to researchers in the division of Johnson &
Johnson Skin Care who will be using the device to gather in vivo Raman
measurements of lotions applied to the skin.

As well,
shares of Engagement Labs (TSXV: EL)
surged 13% to $0.485 as the provider of social data, analytics and insights for
organizations that are actively engaging on social networks announced a
partnership with audience intelligence data company Macromeasures, which will
allow Engagement Labs to deliver a more in depth analysis of data and insights
for clients.

North American Palladium Ltd. (TSX:
PDL
), meanwhile, reported that milling operations at its Lac des Iles mine
site were successfully restarted on June 26, 2015. Underground operations
continued during the suspension of milling operations, resulting in a large stockpile
of approximately 250,000 tonnes of crushed ore on surface that is available for
processing. North American Palladium stock moved up 43% to $0.05 following
the announcement.
