Junior Gold Miner Shines on Update: Today’s Canadian Small Cap Market Movers

Perseus Mining Limited (TSX:
PRU
) shares jumped 15% to $0.31 on Wednesday after the gold miner provided
an operations update for its March quarter, which included the revelation that all-in
site costs at its Edikan gold mine in Ghana fell 11% from the previous quarter
to US$903 an ounce.  

As well,
shares of Eguana Technologies Inc. (TSXV:
EGT
) shot up 13% to $0.315 as the supplier of power control and conversion
solutions for distributed energy storage systems said it has signed a multi-year
agreement with LG Chem Ltd., a manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries, to
combined their technologies to deliver a certified, fully integrated AC Battery
for residential markets.

North Arrow Minerals Inc.’s (TSXV:
NAR
) stock, meanwhile, continued to move higher Wednesday, up 22% to $1.34.
On Tuesday, shares of the diamond project developer shot up 20% after the
company reported that yellow diamonds from the Q1-4 kimberlite, within the
Qilalugaq Diamond Project in Nunavut, contain un-aggregated nitrogen, a
defining characteristic of rare, natural Type Ib diamonds with fancy
“Canary Yellow” colours. Type Ib diamonds are exceptionally rare,
estimated to make up less than 0.1% of natural diamonds globally, according to
the company.

Finally,
Kerr
Mines Inc.
(TSX: KER) shares climbed 28% to $0.115 after the junior
explorer announced that drilling in and around the Copperstone gold deposit
located in Arizona is set to begin. Initial drilling will primarily target the
Lower Plate Zone located parallel to the main Copperstone zones that were
previously mined by open pit and underground methods.
