Junior Explorer Jumps on Copper/Gold Drill Results

Almadex Minerals Limited (CVE:AMZ), a junior explorer, climbed after announcing assay results from its El Cobre porphyry copper-gold project

Gold and copper assays sparked investor interest in a junior explorer Wednesday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 (as of 4 pm EST):

Almadex Minerals Limited (CVE:AMZ) shares surged 25% to $1.10 on Wednesday after the junior explorer announced further assay results from diamond drill hole EC-16-010 on the Norte Zone of its 100% owned El Cobre porphyry copper-gold project in Mexico, which included 62.00 meters of 0.86 g/t gold and 0.33% copper.

As well, shares of Focus Graphite Inc. (CVE:FMS) rose 3% to $0.165 as the graphite explorer released results obtained from the 2014 core drilling program at its wholly-owned Lac Tétépisca graphite project in Québec, which included 22.4 metres grading 17.3% graphitic carbon from 36.8 metres to 59.2 metres.

Minfocus Exploration Corp. (CVE:MFX), meanwhile, reported what it called the successful completion of its first drilling program on its CORAL zinc project in British Columbia. The Company added that drill Hole C16-9 intersected “two encouraging zones of visible zinc mineralization.” Minfocus Exploration stock moved up 100% to $0.06 following the announcement.

Finally, Elcora Advanced Materials Corp. (CVE:ERA) shares climbed 14% to $0.37 after the vertically integrated graphite & graphene company announced that it has developed proprietary technology in order to reduce or eliminate several stages of the lithium ion battery anode manufacturing process.
