Junior Explorer Climbs on Airborne Survey Results: Today’s Canadian Small Cap Market Movers

Equitas Resources Corp. (TSXV:
EQT
) shares jumped 24% to $0.105 on volume of more than 3.1 million shares
Wednesday after the resource explorer announced final results from the VTEM
Plus airborne survey completed on the Garland Property located 30km southeast
of the Voisey’s Bay Mine in Labrador, which included nine areas of conductivity
prospective for nickel-copper sulphides.  

As well,
shares of Trican Well Service Ltd. (TSX:
TCW
) slipped 15% to $4.32 as the company said it will halt dividend
payments to its shareholders and slash 2,000 employees from its North American
workforce due to difficult market conditions within the oilfield services
business.

Kane Biotech Inc. (TSXV:
KNE
), meanwhile, reported that it has signed a joint development agreement
with a global animal health company, which includes initial revenue for Kane of
US$100,000. Kane Biotech stock moved up 11% to $0.05 following the announcement.
 

Finally, California Nanotechnologies Corp. (TSXV:
CNO
) shares gained 8% to $0.07 after the developer of nano-structured
components and materials said it has received new contracts worth approximately
US$136,000, and revealed the sale and installation of new SPS systems at three
U.S. universities and a Mexican research facility, since January 2015.
