Gold Royalties Corporation (TSXV: GRO)
shares powered 76% higher to $0.185 on Wednesday after the gold royalty
company said it has agreed to be acquired by Sandstorm Gold Ltd. (TSX: SSL) in
an all-stock transaction valued at approximately C$5.7 million. Gold Royalties
has about C$2 million in cash and a portfolio of 18 royalties on 13 mining
projects located in Canada, including one royalty that is generating cash flow
from gold production. Upon the closing of the arrangement, Sandstorm will have
a portfolio of 10 streams and 59 royalties.
As well,
shares of Sirona Biochem Corp. (TSXV: SBM)
jumped 22% to $0.14 on volume of more than 1.7 million shares as
the cosmetic ingredient and drug discovery firm announced that its Chief
Business Development Officer will be presenting at BIO Europe in Paris on March
11, 2015. The presentation will include safety and efficacy results of the new
skin lightener TFC-1067, the glycoprotein program for anti-aging and
regenerative medicine, as well as updates from the SGLT2 inhibitor program that
is currently under license agreement with China’s Wanbang Biopharmaceuticals.
All results will be released publicly before the presentation.
Advantage Oil & Gas Ltd. (TSX: AAV),
meanwhile, reported a 2014 reserves and operational update. Highlights included
a 33% increase in its Proven Developed Producing Reserves to 279 Bcfe and an
11% rise in its Proven reserves to 1.2 Tcfe. Advantage Oil & Gas stock
moved up 5% to $6.66 following the announcement.
Finally,
Oncolytics Biotech Inc. (TSX: ONC)
shares rose 2% to $0.91 after the biotechnology company said that enrollment
has been completed in a randomized Phase II study of REOLYSIN in patients
with advanced or metastatic colorectal cancer.
