Gold Junior Glisters on Assay Results

NewCastle Gold Ltd. (TSE:NCA), a gold junior, moved higher after announcing assay results from the Castle Mountain gold project in California

Assay results sparked much speculation in shares of a gold junior Tuesday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 (as of 4 pm EST):

NewCastle Gold Ltd. (TSX: NCA) shares surged 11% to $0.90 on Tuesday after the gold junior announced assay results from definition drilling of the JSLA pit on the southern portion of the Oro Belle Trend at the Castle Mountain gold project in California, which included 31.19 g/t gold over 29.0 metres.

As well, shares of Capstone Mining Corp. (TSX: CS) slipped 5% to $1.17 as the base metals miner said its first-quarter combined production totaled 20,900 tonnes of copper, which the Company called a “challenging” quarter due to heavy rain early in the year at its Pinto Valley operation.

ENPAR Technologies, Inc. (TSXV: ENP), meanwhile, reported that its AmmEL System has been named as a “KEY EMERGING TECHNOLOGY” for nitrogen removal by Global Water Intelligence. ENPAR Technologies stock moved up 11% to $0.105 following the announcement.

Finally, ATAC Resources Ltd. (TSXV: ATC) shares continued to move higher Tuesday, up 19% to $0.59. On Monday, the gold explorer announced that it has entered into an earn-in agreement with Barrick Gold, in which Barrick can acquire up to a 70% interest in the central portion of ATAC’s Rackla Gold Property (the Orion Project) in the Yukon through a private placement of $8.3 million and a two-staged, $55 million exploration earn-in option.
