A well-known investor put some big money into a gold explorer Thursday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Thursday, July 14, 2016 (as of 4 pm EST):
Gold explorer Ascot Resources Ltd. (CVE:AOT) surged 30% to $1.95 on Thursday after announcing that Eric Sprott would invest $20 million into the Company through a non-brokered private placement.
As well, shares of Canam Group Inc. (TSE:CAM) fell 14% to $11.42 as the designer of fabricated customized products for the North American construction industry said that an in-depth assessment will lead to the recording of an after-tax reserve of $32 million in the second quarter of 2016, to take into account the revised cost estimates for a significant project.
INV Metals Inc. (TSE:INV), meanwhile, reported results of a 2016 Preliminary Feasibility Study on its 100% owned Loma Larga gold project in Ecuador. Highlights included an after-tax IRR of 26.3% as well as life of mine all-in sustaining costs of US$577 per ounce, based on a US$1250 gold price assumption. INV Metals stock moved up 20% to $0.60 following the announcement.
In addition, shares of Skyharbour Resources Ltd. (CVE:SYH) jumped 44% to $0.065 as the uranium explorer said it has signed an agreement with Denison Mines Corp. for an option to acquire a 100% interest in the Moore Lake Uranium Project, which is located in the eastern portion of the Athabasca Basin region.
Finally, Nightingale Informatix Corporation (CVE:NGH) shares climbed 25% to $0.05 after the provider of Cloud-based Electronic Health Record, Practice Management and Claims Clearing House solutions to healthcare organizations announced it has agreed to sell its Canadian assets to TELUS Health for $14 million.
