Burcon NutraScience Corporation (TSE:BU), a food stock, surged after Archer Daniels Midland Company confirmed plans to achieve full commercial production of CLARISOY this year

A commercial production announcement made a food stock look appetizing Tuesday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 (as of 4 pm EST):
Burcon NutraScience Corporation (TSE:BU) shares surged 21% to $3.45 on Tuesday after the developer of plant-based proteins announced that Archer Daniels Midland Company, Burcon’s license and production partner for CLARISOY soy protein, has confirmed plans to achieve full commercial production of CLARISOY this year.
As well, shares of Equitorial Exploration Corp. (CVE:EXX) slid 16% to $0.08 as the junior explorer said it has released channel sample results from the 2016 exploration program on its 100% owned Li lithium property in the Northwest Territories, which included 1.63% Li2O across 5.15 metres.
Bonavista Energy Corporation (TSE:BNP), meanwhile, reported that it has entered into an agreement to acquire certain liquids rich natural gas weighted properties located within its Deep Basin and West Central Alberta core regions in exchange for properties within its non-core region located in northeastern British Columbia. Bonavista Energy stock moved up 20% to $4.24 following the announcement.
In addition, shares of Jayden Resources Inc. (CVE:JDN) powered 82% higher to $0.20 as the mineral exploration company said it intends to complete a non-brokered private placement with Eric Sprott as lead investor. The Company will issue up to 15 million units at a price of $0.08 per unit.
Finally, Goldstrike Resources Ltd. (CVE:GSR) shares rose 7% to $0.31 after the gold explorer announced that its first hole, PSGS-16-01, at the Goldstack zone on its 100% controlled Plateau property in Yukon intersected 6.05 grams per tonne gold over 45.5 metres, including 12.5 grams per tonne gold over 20.65 metres.
