Education Stock Climbs on Financial Results: Sean Mason’s Canadian Small Cap Market Movers

learned the value of a good education stock Thursday, while a limitation sank
shares of an oilfield service company. Here’s some small stocks making big moves
on Thursday, August 27, 2015 (as of 4 pm EST):

Lingo Media Corporation (TSXV:
LM
) shares powered 22% higher to $0.355 on Thursday after the online and
print-based educational provider announced a 104% surge in its second-quarter revenue
to $1,794,659, while its net profit for the period rose to $979,103 from
$217,633.

As well,
shares of Raise Production Inc. (TSXV:
RPC
) sank 29% to $0.32 as the oilfield service company provided an
update regarding the results from the current deployment of its Horizontal
Wellbore Production System, which highlighted a limitation in activation
mechanics that the company believes has compromised its testing, causing it to
see no significant sustained production increase above the established average
daily production range for this wellbore. 

Photon Control Inc. (TSXV: PHO), meanwhile, reported record Q2 sales of
$9.0 million in addition to earnings of $3.75 million for the quarter. Photon
Control stock moved up 6% to $0.70 following the announcement.

Finally,
shares of GreenPower Motor Company Inc. (TSXV:
GPV
) gained 19% to $0.25 after the developer of electric powered vehicles
for commercial markets said it has been awarded six categories under the
statewide Master Contract # 09214 for heavy duty mass transit vehicles by the
State of Washington Department of Enterprise Services.
