Sirona Biochem Corp. (TSXV:
SBM) shares climbed 10% to $0.165 on volume of more than 3.4 million shares
Tuesday after the cosmetic ingredient and drug discovery company announced
that its French partner, Biogalenys, observed positive effects of Sirona’s
glycoprotein SBM-TFC-837 on human fibroblasts in preliminary, in vitro, studies
in response to the stressed condition of ultraviolet (UV) radiation. The
company added that the results of these studies demonstrated a dramatic increase
in percent cell viability over time with SBM-TFC-837, which suggests its
glycoprotein plays an important role in protection against UV induced cell
death.
As well,
shares of Orbite Aluminae Inc. (TSX:
ORT) sank 21% to $0.315 as the clean technology based
mineral-processing and resource development company said it has proposes to
offer for sale a minimum of 8,500 units of the company and a maximum of 15,500
units at a price of $1,000 per unit for minimum gross proceeds of $8.5 million
and maximum gross proceeds of $15.5 million. Each unit consists of $1,000
principal amount of 5% convertible unsecured unsubordinated debentures and 907
share purchase warrants of the company.
Touchstone Exploration Inc. (TSX:
TXP), meanwhile, reported results of the independent December 31, 2014
reserve evaluation, which showed Total Proved Plus Probable Reserves of 17.8
Million BOE from the company’s crude oil and natural gas reserves in Canada and
the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Touchstone Exploration stock moved down 9%
to $0.255 following the announcement.
Finally,
Tarku Resources Ltd. (TSXV:
TKU) shares shot up 133% to $0.07 after the junior explorer announced that
it has reached agreement with Anthem
Resources Inc. (TSXV:
AYN), whereby Tarku may earn 100% of its Chateau Fort gold property in
Quebec.
