SmallCapPower | September 27, 2017: Keeping conversations completely private is one of the biggest challenges of the digital age. Yet two brothers from Vancouver, Dylan and Jordan Sidoo along with friend Jaiten Gill, expect to help solve that problem with their messenger app, Vanish.

Vanish permits users to delete and have complete control over their data. Its underlying technology allows for encrypted communication by storing all private keys locally on the device, making it one of the more secure communication apps on the market, according to the Company founders.

“We looked at the instant messaging landscape and saw that existing solutions lacked strong encryption from WhatsApp’s cloud service and Telegram’s encryption not on by default. We saw the need for a different kind of technology thus we decided to develop Vanish Messenger,” said Company co-founder Dylan Sidoo.

“It’s important to realize that encryption is vital to everyone, even if there’s nothing to hide. From allowing journalists to communicate with their sources, or lawyers to communicate with clients, encryption allows these conversations to be private. It protects healthcare records, financial institutions and transactions, and criminal justice investigations,” he added.

Vanish lets users speak freely without storing any decrypted information on a cloud service. Messages can be completely erased indefinitely — even those sent to the receiver’s device. Once deleted, they completely vanish and cannot be recovered. Additionally it allows for seven person encrypted group-video calls, and up to 20,000 user audio calls. Vanish had their first early-stage audit performed by Security Advisor Jerry Ma recently, revealing zero exploits.

The app is completely free to download and use, and is available on iTunes and Android.
