Better-than-expected grades was good news for shareholders of a vanadium explorer Wednesday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 (as of 4 pm EST):

Cornerstone Metals Inc. (TSXV:CCC) shares jumped 14% to $0.32 on Wednesday after the vanadium explorer announced the results of the first eight holes of the confirmation diamond drilling program on its Carlin Vanadium Project in Nevada, in which five of eight new holes returned “much higher vanadium grades compared to their neighbouring historic holes.”

As well, shares of Student Transportation Inc. (TSX:STB) shot up 26% to $9.65 as the provider of school transportation services said it has agreed to be acquired by a company sponsored by Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and Ullico Inc. for US$7.50 per common share in cash.

Advance Gold Corp. (TSXV:AAX), meanwhile, reported that it is planning a geophysical survey together with a follow-up drill program on its 100% owned Tabasquena silver mine in Mexico. Advance Gold stock moved up 36% to $0.095 following the announcement.
