Great Bear Resources (CVE:GBR), a precious metals explorer, rose after releasing drill results from the Dixie Lake Project

High-grade gold results from Red Lake boosted shares of a precious metals explorer Thursday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Thursday, September 7, 2017 (as of 4 pm EST):

Great Bear Resources (TSXV: GBR) shares climbed 22% to $0.47 on Thursday after the precious metals explorer announced results from the first five holes of an eight-hole drill program completed on the Dixie Lake Project located in the Red Lake District of Ontario, which included 10.40 metres of 16.84 g/t gold.

As well, shares of ESSA Pharma Inc. (TSX: EPI) surged 44% to $0.56 as the clinical-stage pharmaceutical company said its abstract entitled “EPI-506 (ralaniten acetate), a novel androgen receptor (AR) N-terminal domain (NTD) inhibitor, in men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC): Phase 1 update on safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and efficacy” has been selected for a poster presentation at the upcoming 2017 European Society for Medical Oncology Congress.

Heron Resources Limited (TSX: HER), meanwhile, reported the successful completion of its A$141 million Equity Funding as part of the full A$240 million total development funding package for its Woodlawn Zinc-Copper Project in Australia. Heron Resources stock moved up 7% to $0.075 following the announcement.

Finally, Spearmint Resources Inc. (TSXV: SRJ) shares rose 33% to $0.04 after the junior explorer announced that it has acquired a 100% interest in the “EL North” Nickel-Copper Prospect in the Eskay Creek Mining Camp of British Columbia.
