Junior Miner Surges on Gold Production Announcement

RNC Minerals (TSE:RNX), a junior miner, glistered after announcing commercial gold production has been achieved at its Beta Hunt Mine in Western Australia

Commercial gold production was a nugget of good news for shareholders of a junior miner Tuesday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 (as of 4 pm EST):

RNC Minerals (TSX: RNX) shares jumped 33% to $0.24 on Tuesday after the junior miner announced that it has achieved commercial gold production at its Beta Hunt Mine in Western Australia by producing at least 3,500 contained ounces of gold over a one-month period, which is equivalent to an annualized production rate of 42,000 ounces.

As well, shares of Kenadyr Mining (Holdings) Corp. (TSXV: KEN) rose 4% to $0.385 as the gold explorer said the second drill hole of the 2017 season, collared at the East Zone on Kenadyr’s 100% owned Borubai License in Kyrgyz Republic, has intersected 50 meters at 8.15 g/t gold from a downhole depth of 151 metres to 201 metres.

BIOREM Inc. (TSXV: BRM), meanwhile, reported that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Tus-Material Group to market globally their ultrafiltration membranes, which are said to provide a barrier to contaminants in water including suspended solids and pathogens such as cryptosporidium, E. coli, and viruses. BIOREM stock moved up 7% to $0.465 following the announcement.
