Asanko Gold Inc. (TSX:AKG), a junior gold miner, jumped after announcing it will receive US$185 million from Gold Fields Limited for a 50% interest in its Asanko Gold Mine
A joint venture with a big gold producer pushed shares of a junior gold miner sharply higher Thursday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Thursday, March 29, 2018 (as of 4 pm EST):
Asanko Gold Inc. (TSX:AKG) shares climbed 40% to $1.30 on Thursday after the junior gold miner announced that it will receive US$185 million for a 50% joint venture interest in its Asanko Gold Mine in Ghana from subsidiaries of Gold Fields Limited.
As well, shares of Neovasc Inc. (TSX:NVCN) plunged 47% to $0.08 as the specialty medical device company said its fiscal 2107 revenue slid 43% to US$5,389,014.
Reliq Health Technologies Inc. (TSXV:RHT), meanwhile, reported that it has now onboarded over 12,000 patients and is continuing to add at least 2,000 new patients per month to the platform. Reliq Health stock moved up 12% to $1.90 following the announcement.
Finally, Emblem Corp. (TSXV:EMC) shares rose 10% to $1.44 after the licensed producer and distributor of medical cannabis and cannabis derivatives announced that it has entered into an agreement to become a medical cannabis supplier to Shoppers Drug Mart.
