Silica results
piqued the interest of a few speculators Thursday, while delays weighed on the share
price of a gold junior. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Thursday, August
20, 2015 (as of 4 pm EST):
Rogue Resources Inc. (TSXV:
RRS) shares climbed as much as 19% before ending down 6% at $0.075 on Thursday after the micro-cap explorer
announced that assay results from two of 14 channel sample units comprising 256
samples have been received on the Lac de la Grosse Femelle silica project in
Québec, which the company claims are indicative of the high purity silica
trends that are contained in the quartzite units.
As well, shares
of Rubicon Minerals Corporation (TSX:
RMX) slipped 8% to $1.00 as the emerging gold producer said it
has experienced some delays in the underground during the initial extraction of
the first trial stope at its Phoenix Gold Project in Red Lake, Ontario.
Pure Energy Minerals Limited (TSXV: PE),
meanwhile, reported that it is in receipt of an Order-Of-Magnitude cost
estimate for its Clayton Valley Lithium Brine Project in Nevada, which estimates
the operating expenses at approximately US$1900/ton of lithium hydroxide
monohydrate. Pure Energy stock moved up 9% to $0.465.
