A large copper soil anomaly discovery sparked shares of a junior explorer Thursday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Thursday, February 21, 2019 (as of 4 pm EST):

Kintavar Exploration Inc. (TSXV:KTR) shares climbed 20% to $0.27 on Thursday after the junior explorer announced that it has identified a large copper soil anomaly in the Conan area as part of its Mitchi property in Quebec.

As well, shares of Trevali Mining Corporation (TSX:TV) slipped 11% to $0.35 as the zinc miner said its 2018 EBITDA was negative $177 million and it recorded an annual net loss of $231 million, or $0.27 per share, which the Company attributed to the recognition of a non-cash impairment charge.

Petroteq Energy Inc. (TSXV:PQE), meanwhile, reported that it has completed its first maintenance turnaround at its oil sands processing facility located near Vernal, Utah, and has recommenced the production of oil from the plant at 300 to 350 barrels per day. Petroteq Energy stock moved up 9% to $0.53 following the announcement.

Finally, Imex Systems Inc. (TSXV:IMEX) shares rose 80% to $0.045 after the software solution provider announced that it has entered into discussions with several Asian and South American regional and national governments regarding the deployment of its iGov platform.
