A far north cobalt project pickup was good news for shareholders of a junior explorer Tuesday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 (as of 4 pm EST):

Boreal Metals Corp. (TSXV:BMX) shares climbed 31% to $0.34 on Tuesday after the junior explorer announced that it has acquired the Modum cobalt project in Norway from EMX Royalty Corporation in consideration for 1,324,181 common shares of Boreal as well as a net smelter return royalty on the Project.

As well, shares of Memex Inc. (TSXV:OEE) slid 24% to $0.125 as the provider of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) manufacturing productivity software said it has recorded a fiscal 2017 net loss of $3.98 million, compared with a $2.81 million net loss during fiscal 2016.

NextSource Materials Inc. (TSX:NEXT), meanwhile, reported that it has successfully registered SuperFlake® as a trademark in Japan, which gives the Company the exclusive right to use this trademark on all-natural graphite sold in Japan that it produces from its Molo Graphite Project in Madagascar. NextSource Materials stock moved up 75% to $0.14 following the announcement.
