Junior Explorer Jumps on Expanded Drill Program

Amex Exploration Inc. (TSXV:AMX), a junior explorer, surged after announcing an expanded drilling program at the Perron gold project

More drilling sparked a bit of speculation in shares of a popular junior explorer Tuesday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 (as of 4 pm EST):

Amex Exploration Inc. (TSXV:AMX) shares climbed 21% to $1.03 on Tuesday after the junior explorer announced the launch of an expanded drilling program on the Eastern Gold Zone at the Perron gold project in Quebec, which will involve approximately 10,000 metres of drilling.

As well, shares of Pure Global Cannabis Inc. (TSXV:PURE) gained 11% to $0.245 as the consumer products cannabis company said it has received confirmation from Health Canada for its process inspection in preparation to sell cannabis oils to the Canadian market.

Compass Gold Corp. (TSXV:CVB), meanwhile, reported that three new reverse circulation drill holes totaling 406 meters were completed on the Farabakoura artisanal workings at its Sikasso Property in Mali, in which gold mineralization was identified in all three holes. The best intercept was 13 metres of 3.40 grams per tonne gold. Compass Gold stock popped 19% to $0.155 following the announcement.

Finally, Royal Road Minerals Limited (TSXV:RYR) shares rose 50% to $0.12 after the gold and copper explorer/developer announced that it has agreed to acquire Colombian exploration assets from AngloGold Ashanti.
