Gold Junior Soars on Drilling Announcement

Chalice Gold Mines Limited (TSE:CXN), a gold junior, gained ground after announcing a drilling program at its West Pilbara Gold Project

The beginning of a new drill program was good news for shareholders of a gold junior Friday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Friday, September 29, 2017 (as of 4 pm EST):

Chalice Gold Mines Limited (TSX: CXN) shares surged 71% to $0.29 after the gold junior announced that it will shortly begin a new Reverse Circulation (RC) and Aircore drilling program at its West Pilbara Gold Project in Western Australia, as it has received all required clearances and permits.

As well, shares of CRH Medical Corporation (TSX: CRH) added 13% at $3.25 as the provider of services and products for the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases said it has completed an accretive transaction to acquire a gastroenterology anesthesia practice in San Antonio, Texas, which CRH expects will add US$1.8 million in revenue for 2018.

Ximen Mining Corp. (TSXV: XIM), meanwhile, reported that it has filed a Technical Report on the Brett Gold Project in British Columbia, which shows potential for both high-grade, structurally controlled vein-style mineralization, and for lower grade bulk tonnage mineralization controlled by more permeable stratigraphic units. Ximen Mining stock moved up 29% to $0.045 following the announcement.
