Gold Junior Shines on Potential Transaction: Sean Mason’s Canadian Small Cap Market Movers

surrounded a Manitoba gold project developer Wednesday following a potential
commercial transaction. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Wednesday,
October 14, 2015 (as of 4 pm EST):

Carlisle Goldfields Limited (TSX:
CGJ
) shares powered 30% higher to $0.37 on Wednesday after the gold project
developer announced that it has requested a trading halt on the basis that
it is currently in discussions concerning a potential commercial transaction.

As well,
shares of PRD Energy Inc. (TSXV:
PRD
) slipped 14% to $0.06 as the oil and gas junior said that Jeff Scott,
Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, has resigned from his
position as an officer of the Company effective October 9, 2015.

Montero Mining and Exploration Ltd. (TSXV:
MON
), meanwhile, reported that its funding partner, Ovation Capital, has
committed to expenditures of about C$2.7 million (before VAT) to acquire a 10%
interest in Montero’s Duyker Eiland phosphate project in South Africa. Montero
Mining stock moved up 300% to $0.04 following the announcement.
