Near-surface drill results sparked a bit of speculation in a gold junior Monday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Monday, May 8, 2017 (as of 4 pm EST):

Comstock Metals Ltd. (TSXV: CSL) shares gained 11% to $0.155 on Monday after the gold junior announced initial results from the winter diamond drilling program at its 100% owned Preview SW gold project in Saskatchewan, which included 17.98 g/t gold over 5.71 metres starting at 10 metres below surface.

As well, shares of AGT Food and Ingredients Inc. (TSX: AGT) slipped 13% to $26.38 as the processor of value-added pulses, staple foods and ingredients said its first-quarter results were “weak in terms of our earnings,” and warned that near-term headwinds caused by non-tariff trade barriers and slower seasonal sales in certain markets like India and Turkey are expected to continue in the near term.

Oncolytics Biotech Inc. (TSX: ONC), meanwhile, reported that the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted Fast Track designation for REOLYSIN, the Company’s immuno-oncology viral agent for the treatment of metastatic breast cancer. Oncolytics Biotech stock moved up 20% to $0.91 following the announcement.

Finally, Dalradian Resources Inc. (TSX: DNA) shares climbed 11% to $1.30 after the gold explorer/project developer announced results from the processing of nearly 14,500 tonnes of mineralized material from its Curraghinalt gold project in Northern Ireland. Milling resulted in a positive reconciliation for the test stopes, yielding 42% more ounces and a 40% higher grade compared with the Block Model of the 2016 NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate.
