Additional claims staking in a popular gold district generated much speculation in a gold explorer Tuesday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 (as of 4 pm EST):

Sunvest Minerals Corp. (TSXV:SSS) shares climbed 8% to $0.07 on Tuesday after the gold explorer announced that it has agreed to acquire the Moosehead North Gold Project, comprising two claim blocks covering 4,215 hectares, situated near and on-trend with Sokoman Iron Corp.’s (TSXV:SIC) Moosehead Gold Project in Newfoundland.

As well, shares of Tasca Resources Ltd. (TSXV:TAC) gained as much as 20% before ending 15% lower at $0.085 as the junior explorer said it has acquired a second property, totaling 600 hectares, in the Moosehead Gold area of north-central Newfoundland.

Resverlogix Corp. (TSX:RVX), meanwhile, reported that the independent Data and Safety Monitoring Board for the Company’s Phase 3 BETonMACE trial in high-risk cardiovascular disease patients has completed a seventh planned safety review and recommended that the study should continue as planned without any modifications. Resverlogix stock moved up 7% to $3.46 following the announcement.
