Maple Gold Mines Ltd. (TSXV:MGM), a gold explorer, surged after announcing a C$6.2 million investment from Agnico Eagle Mines

An Agnico Eagle Mines investment and potential joint venture sparked shares of a gold explorer Thursday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Thursday, October 8, 2020 (as of 11:30 am EST):

Maple Gold Mines Ltd. (TSXV:MGM) shares climbed 35% to $0.23 on Thursday after the gold explorer announced that Agnico Eagle Mines will invest C$6.2 million into MGM via a private placement at a price of C$0.24 per unit. The two companies are also contemplating a 50-50 joint venture, which would combine Maple Gold’s Douay Project and Agnico’s Joutel Project into a consolidated joint property package.

As well, shares of D-BOX Technologies Inc. (TSX:DBO) gained 47% to $0.125 as the provider of immersive video experiences said its D-BOX products have received an endorsement from The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the governing body of motor sport & mobility.

Quarterhill Inc. (TSX:QTRH), meanwhile, reported that its Q3 2020 consolidated revenue is expected to be in the range of $80 to $87 million, while its Adjusted EBITDA for the quarter is anticipated to be in the range of $32 to $36 million. Quarterhill stock moved up 13% to $2.07 following the announcement.
