A few speculators took a shine to a gold explorer Thursday following drilling news and a new CEO. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Thursday, September 14, 2017 (as of 4 pm EST):
Altamira Gold Corp. (TSXV: ALTA) shares jumped 11% to $0.205 on Thursday after the gold explorer announced that diamond drilling has begun at the Crepori project in Brazil. The Company added that it has appointed Michael Bennett as its President and CEO.
As well, shares of Sonoro Energy Ltd. (TSXV: SNV) gained 29% to $0.045 as the oil and gas explorer/developer said the drilling rig from PT Advanced Services Indonesia has mobilized from Balikpapan, and is now moored and being unloaded in the Indonesian province of West Sulawesi. Sonoro expects to have the drilling rig moved in the next week to its LG-1 Up-dip site on the Budong Budong Production Sharing Contract lease, where it will be readied for drilling operations along with other drilling services.
betterU Education Corp. (TSXV: BTRU) stock, meanwhile, continued to move higher Thursday, up 10% to $0.33 following a 36% gain late Wednesday after the company announced that it has executed on a Memorandum of Understanding with the Telecom Sector Skill Council to jointly support both organizations’ efforts towards the training of millions of professionals across India’s Telecom sector.
