Compass Gold Corp. (TSXV:CVB), a gold explorer, climbed after announcing results from its Sikasso Property in Mali

More than a few speculators took a shine to shares of a gold explorer Thursday following drill results. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Thursday, March 28, 2019 (as of 4 pm EST):

Compass Gold Corp. (TSXV:CVB) shares skyrocketed 404% to $0.58 on Thursday after the gold explorer announced results of the one diamond drill hole completed at the Ouassada exploration permit on its Sikasso Property in Mali, which included four metres of 83.82 g/t gold from 63 metres.

As well, shares of Valener Inc. (TSX:VNR) rose 11% to $26.15 as the energy investment company said it has agreed to be acquired by Noverco Inc. for $26.00 per common share in cash.

GeneNews Limited (TSX:GEN), meanwhile, reported that it has launched the first of several initiatives to make patient directed testing available nationwide, which includes partnering with PWNHealth, a national virtual care company that enables access to physicians who will facilitate and authorize diagnostic testing and provide guidance with test results. GeneNews stock moved up 25% to $0.175 following the announcement.
