A European
player moved into the Canadian energy space Tuesday while a study update
weighed on a biopharma stock. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Tuesday,
October 13, 2015 (as of 4 pm EST):
Kicking Horse Energy Inc. (TSXV:
KCK) shares powered 45% higher to $4.69 on volume of more than 6.9 million Tuesday after Poland’s top
refiner, the state-controlled PKN Orlen, said it would acquire the Canadian oil
and gas producer/explorer for C$4.75 per share in cash.
As well,
shares of Aeterna Zentaris Inc. (TSX:
AEZ) slid 17% to $0.095 as the specialty biopharmaceutical company announced
that the independent Data and Safety Monitoring Board has recommended that the
pivotal Phase 3 ZoptEC (Zoptarelin Doxorubicin in Endometrial Cancer)
study with zoptarelin doxorubicin in women with advanced, recurrent or
metastatic endometrial cancer, continue as planned. A final analysis of the
data is expected at approximately 384 events.
Fission Uranium Corp. (TSX:
FCU) stock, meanwhile, moved up 7% to $0.74 after the Company and Denison
Mines reported that it is terminating its previously-announced merger agreement.
