Clean Tech Stock Surges on EPA Decision

An environmental go ahead revved up shares of a clean engine maker Thursday, while a software maker’s slide continued. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Thursday, January 21, 2016 (as of 4 pm EST):

WPT logoWestport Innovations Inc. (TSX: WPT) shares continued to power higher Thursday, up 23% to $3.08. The developer of natural gas engines and vehicles’ stock price has soared 69% since the Company announced it has received certification from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the dedicated compressed natural gas and bi-fuel CNG Westport WiNG Power System models of the Ford 5.0L F-150 trucks for Model Year 2016.

As well, shares of 01 Communique (TSXV: ONE) continued to sink, sliding 9% to $0.05. The software as a service provider’s stock plunged 84% on Wednesday after the jury in its patent litigation case against Citrix Systems, Inc. decided that Citrix did not infringe 01 Communique’s patent, and that 01 Communique’s patent is valid.

Eureka Resources Inc. (TSXV: EUK), meanwhile, reported that it has entered into a letter agreement to acquire a 50% working interest in a lithium exploration property proximal to the Clayton Valley in Nevada from Nevada Sunrise Gold Corporation. The agreement calls for Eureka to reimburse Nevada Sunrise for 50% of Gemini’s acquisition costs as well as issuing Nevada Sunrise up to one million common shares of Eureka Resources. Eureka stock moved up 22% to $0.055 following the announcement.
