A big U.S. contract powered up a Canadian solar energy stock Wednesday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 (as of 4 pm EST):

UGE International Ltd. (TSXV:UGE), a Canadian solar energy stock, surged 27% to $0.79 on Wednesday after announcing that it has signed agreements to develop, build, and finance two additional community solar projects in Maine valued at US$21.5 million.

As well, shares of Amex Exploration Inc. (TSXV:AMX) rose 6% to $3.42 as the gold junior released drill results from its Perron property in Quebec, which included 50.0 metres of 2.12 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

Novoheart Holdings Inc. (TSXV:NVH), meanwhile, reported that it has agreed to go private at a price of C$0.53 per share in cash. Novoheart popped 42% to $0.51 following the announcement.
