COVID-19 testing propelled a Canadian biotech stock sharply higher Monday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Monday, April 20, 2020 (as of 4 pm EST):
StageZero Life Sciences, Ltd. (TSX:SZLS), a Canadian biotech stock, climbed 14% to $0.08 on Monday after announcing that it is initiating testing for the COVID-19 virus from its CLIA-certified lab in Richmond, Virginia. The Company added that it will offer both the PCR-based nucleic acid tests as well qualitative antibody testing.
As well, shares of The Alkaline Water Company Inc. (TSXV:WTER) surged 30% to $1.59 as the producer of bottled alkaline water and CBD-infused products said it has increased production capacity significantly to meet demand.
YDX Innovation Corp. (TSXV:YDX), meanwhile, reported that it has finished the development and implementation of the new Customer Experience Center for the Brazilian-based aerospace manufacturer, Embraer. YDX Innovation stock popped 83% to $0.165 following the announcement.
Finally, Fosterville South Exploration Ltd. (TSXV:FSX) shares rose 10% to $1.32 after the gold junior announced that it has agreed to acquire three gold projects, the Timor Project, the Avoca Project and the Moormbool Project, from Mercator Gold Australia Pty Limited in consideration for A$500,000 plus A$1 for every one ounce of gold or gold equivalent of Measured resource, Indicated resource or Inferred resource within one or more of the tenements comprising the Gold Projects, which payment shall not exceed a total of A$1 million.
