Who says you can’t find junior resource stock winners in one of the worse bear markets in history? Luisa Moreno, Senior Analyst and Managing Partner at Tahuti Global, was interviewed by SmallCapPower on April 16, 2015 (Watch the interview here), and mentioned she liked a company called Nemaska Lithium Inc. (TSXV: NMX). In the seven months since, its stock price has powered 91% higher to its current price of $0.305.
Nemaska Lithium is moving towards becoming a lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate producer by developing its Whabouchi project in Quebec. The Company claims Whabouchi is North America’s richest hard rock lithium deposit, with an average grade of 1.53% Li2O.
Nemaska also said it is the second richest and largest deposit in the world with 27.3 MT Proven and Probable Reserves. And, the company released Feasibility Study results back in May 2014, which showed a NPV of $924 million and IRR of 25.2% for the project.
As well, Nemaska published two patent applications covering its invention of producing lithium hydroxide from lithium sulphate solution utilizing electrolysis technology, in addition to the transformation of lithium hydroxide into lithium carbonate.
Lithium plays have received much investor interest ever since Tesla Motors announced that it will build a $5 billion lithium-ion battery plant in Nevada, and expressed a desire to source its lithium from North American suppliers.
