Drill results pumped up shares of a gold explorer Monday, while a graphite junior got a jolt. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Monday, August 8, 2016 (as of 4 pm EST):
Almadex Minerals Limited (CVE:AMZ) shares surged 56% to $0.70 on Monday after the gold explorer announced drill results from its 100% owned El Cobre porphyry copper-gold project in Mexico, which included 43.00 meters of 1.61 g/t gold and 0.41% copper.
As well, shares of Aureus Mining Inc. (TSE:AUE) slid 17% to $0.065 as the West African gold producer said that since the restart of processing operations at the New Liberty Gold Mine in Liberia, the Company has experienced periods of unscheduled plant downtime as it works to resolve processing plant performance issues, testing and further optimisation activities.
Focus Graphite (CVE:FMS), meanwhile, reported that it has successfully purified fine flake graphite, sourced at its wholly-owned Lac Knife, Quebec deposit, from 95% to 99.99% purity using a proprietary purification process. Focus Graphite stock moved up 18% to $0.165 following the announcement.
Finally, Antibe Therapeutics Inc. (CVE:ATE) shares climbed 29% to $0.22 after the healthcare company announced what it called the “successful completion” of its Phase 2 clinical trial of ATB-346 in osteoarthritis.
