Social Media Stock Pops on Acquisition News: Sean Mason’s Canadian Small Cap Market Movers

A digital
content deal sparked some speculation Friday while a mining stock dropped
following a dividend cut. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Friday, September
18, 2015 (as of 4 pm EST):

Mobio Technologies Inc. (TSXV:
MBO
) shares jumped 29% to $0.045 on Friday after social media applications
provider announced that it has completed the acquisition of Twenty Year Media
Corp., which provides media content distribution using data and social media
analysis together with seamless digital delivery to multiple platforms.

As well,
shares of Sherritt International
Corporation
 (TSX:
S
) slipped 6% to $0.94 as the miner said it is suspending its $0.01 per
share quarterly dividend as part of a comprehensive initiative to cut operating
costs and capital spending.

Graphite One Resources Inc. (TSXV:
GPH
), meanwhile, reported that it is increasing the financing previously
announced on August 20, 2015 and September 14, 2015 from $1.0 million up to
$1.5 million in gross proceeds at the same price of C$0.07 per unit. Graphite
One stock moved up as much as 6% before ending unchanged at $0.085 following the announcement.
