A resource
exploration stock moved higher after exercising an option while a few speculators
took a shine to silver drill results. Here’s some small stocks making big moves
on Thursday, September 17, 2015 (as of 4 pm EST):
Discovery Ventures Inc. (TSXV:
DVN) shares jumped 10% to $0.165 on volume of more than 2.7 million shares Thursday
after the resource junior said it has paid a sum of $130,000 to exercise the
option and has acquired a 100% interest in the Willa copper-gold property in British
Columbia.
As well,
shares of Alexco Resource Corp. (TSX:
AXR) surged 13% to $0.61 as the silver project developer announced results
from its 2015 drilling program at the Bermingham deposit in the Yukon, which
included 4.98 meters grading 7,462 grams per tonne (g/t) silver.
Difference Capital Financial Inc. (TSX: DCF), meanwhile, reported that its majority-owned
investment, WG Ltd., has sold its operational assets to Cineplex Entertainment.Difference expects to receive about
C$6.4 million from the transaction and will continue to hold a small indirect
equity interest in the new company going forward.Difference Capital stock moved
up 27% to $0.75 following the announcement.
Finally, Theralase Technologies Inc. (TSXV:
TLT) shares rose 9% to $0.36 after the biotechnology manufacturer focused
on commercializing medical technologies to eliminate pain and destroy cancer
said it has submitted a Clinical Trial Application for its anti-cancer
technology to Health Canada for approval.
