Sunesis Pharmaceutical, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNSS) Shares Surge on Pending Cancer Announcement: Daily Market Movers

Sunesis Pharmaceutical, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNSS)
shares shot up 38% to $2.31 on an upcoming announcement of the company’s blood
cancer treatment. Sunesis will announce the results of its late-stage trial of
its acute myeloid leukemia treatment in early December. The company will also report
the data from its Phase 3 VALOR trial of vosaroxin and cytarabine in the American
Society of Hematology annual meeting scheduled for December 6, 2014.  

As well,
shares of Valley Financial Corporation
(NASDAQ: VYFC)
soared 48% to $19.75 after the bank holding company agreed to be acquired by BNC
Bancorp (NASDAQ:
BNCN
) in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $101.3 million,
or about $20.50 for each share of Valley common stock.  

DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. (NASDAQ: DWA)
stock, meanwhile, sank 14% to $22.31 on Monday after a proposed structure
suggesting a merger with company Hasbro
(NASDAQ:
HAS
) did not pull through. On a share base offer, DreamWorks CEO was
expecting a price of at least $30. Hasbro did not agree to this offer. Today,
Hasbro shares surged more than 4%.
