Small
cap stocks making big moves on Monday, September 8, 2014 (as of 4 pm EST), as

Multimedia Games Holding Company, Inc. (NASDAQ: MGAM)
shares shot up 30% to $36.15 on volume of more than 11.2 million shares Monday after
the developer and distributor of gaming technology said it has agreed to be
acquired by Global Cash Access Holdings,
Inc. (NYSE:
GCA) for $36.50 per share in cash, or a total consideration of
approximately $1.2 billion.
As well,
shares of World Acceptance (NASDAQ: WRLD)
slipped 8% to $71.18 after the small-loan consumer finance firm disclosed that KPMG had
resigned as its independent auditor.
Bank of Kentucky Financial Corporation (NASDAQ:
BKYF), meanwhile, announced that it has agreed to be acquired by BB&T Corporation (NYSE:
BBT)in a cash
and stock transaction valued at about $363 million. Bank of Kentucky
shareholders will receive 1.0126 shares of BB&T common stock and $9.40 in
cash for each share of The Bank of Kentucky common stock held. Bank of
Kentucky stock popped 28% to $46.50 following the announcement.
Finally,
Mexco Energy Corporation (NYSE MKT: MXC)
shares jumped 13% to $8.25 after the independent oil and gas company reported
that three new wells in the “B” bench of the Wolfcamp formation in Texas
produced at an average rate respectively of 877,713 and 883 barrels of oil
equivalent per day, during the first 11 days of production through September 1,
2014.
