LipoScience, Inc. (NASDAQ: LPDX) Shares Surge on Takeover Bid: U.S. Daily Market Movers

LipoScience, Inc. (NASDAQ: LPDX)
shares soared 63% to $5.19 on volume of more than 8.6 million shares Thursday
after the provider of specialized cardiovascular diagnostic laboratory tests
said it has agreed to be acquired by Laboratory
Corporation of America Holdings
(NYSE: LH)
for a purchase price of $5.25 per share in cash, or a total consideration of
$85.3 million.

As well,
shares of OMNOVA Solutions Inc. (NYSE: OMN)
slid 19% to $5.71 as the technology firm announced third-quarter revenue and
earnings that fell short of Wall Street expectations.

Finjan Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: FNJN),
meanwhile, reported that it has reached a mutually agreed patent license with
Websense, Inc. Finjan Holdings stock popped 5% to $3.27 following the
announcement. 

Finally,
IGI Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE MKT:
IG)
shares shot up 18% to $8.80 after the specialty generic pharmaceutical
company said it has acquired the regulatory rights and related documents and
records for 18 drug products from AstraZeneca, 17 of which were marketed.
