Junior Explorer Surges on Takeover Bid: Canadian Daily Small/Micro Cap Market Movers

Bayfield Ventures Corp. (TSXV: BYV)
shares shot up 32% to $0.185 on Monday after the precious metals explorer said
it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by New Gold Inc. (TSX: NGD),
in which Bayfield shareholders will receive 0.0477 of a New Gold common share for
each Bayfield share held. The offer values Bayfield at approximately $16.6
million.

As well,
shares of McEwen Mining Inc. (TSX: MUX)
slipped 14% to $1.38 after the precious metals miner announced its operating
and financial results for Q3 2014 as well as guidance for Q4 2014 and
preliminary guidance for full-year 2015.

Intertainment Media Inc. (TSXV: INT),
meanwhile, reported that its majority-owned subsidiary Yappn Corp. has signed
an agreement with an industry leading entertainment merchandising company
representing major music recording labels to produce multilingual stores for
its artists, allowing fans to purchase a wide range of custom merchandise in
their native language. Intertainment Media stock popped as much as 50% before ending unchanged at $0.02 following
the announcement.

Finally, Alpha Exploration Inc. (TSXV: AEX)
shares jumped 9% to $0.125 after the junior mineral exploration company
said it has earned its 60% interest in the Carpenter Lake Property in the
Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan.
